PNR Status & Waitlisting
Your 10-digit PNR number tracks seat allotment. GNWL (General Waitlist) clears fastest. CKWL (Tatkal) and PQWL (Pooled Quota) clear less frequently. Waitlisted tickets below WL/15 on popular routes usually confirm before departure chart preparation (4–1 hour before).
Tatkal & Premium Tatkal
Tatkal quota opens 1 day before departure at 10 AM (AC) and 11 AM (non-AC) for last-minute confirmed seats at a premium. Premium Tatkal uses dynamic pricing. Tatkal tickets carry reduced cancellation refunds — ideal only for urgent confirmed travel.

Cancellations are processed through IRCTC or our portal. Refund slabs: 48+ hours before: ₹60 (SL) / ₹120 (3A) / ₹180 (2A) / ₹240 (1A) flat fee. Between 48–12 hours: 25% deduction. Between 12–4 hours: 50%. Under 4 hours or after departure: no refund. Online cancellations credit within 3–5 working days.
Carry the digital or printed e-ticket along with any one government photo ID (Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID, Passport or Driving Licence). The name on the ID must match the ticket exactly. For family bookings, one ID for the ticket holder is sufficient; children under 5 do not need a ticket.
Confirmation depends on quota type and waitlist number. GNWL/1–15 on popular routes have a high (~80%) confirmation rate. CKWL and RSWL are harder to clear. Monitor your PNR on our app — we send real-time alerts as your position improves. If not confirmed at chart preparation, an automatic refund is issued within 5 days.
Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto trains include complimentary meals. On other trains, the IRCTC e-catering service lets you pre-order food from restaurants at upcoming stations — delivered to your seat. Pantry cars on long-distance trains sell packaged food, tea and snacks.
