Baggage Allowance & Fees
Most domestic airlines allow 15–25 kg check-in + 7 kg cabin baggage. Low-cost carriers like IndiGo charge extra for check-in bags — add them during booking to save up to 40% vs airport counters. Liquids over 100 ml must go in check-in. Oversized/overweight baggage fees apply per segment.
Check-in & Boarding Windows
Web check-in opens 48 hours before departure and closes 60 minutes prior. Airport check-in closes 45 minutes (domestic) and 60 minutes (international) before departure. Reach the airport at least 90 min early for domestic, 3 hours for international. Boarding gates typically close 20–25 minutes before departure.

Cancellation refunds depend on your fare type and timing. Fully Flexible fares: 100% refund up to 2 hours before departure. Semi-Flexible: ₹1,500–₹3,500 cancellation fee. Non-refundable/Saver: only taxes refunded. Airline-initiated cancellations always qualify for a full refund. Refunds process within 5–7 business days to the original payment method.
For domestic flights carry your boarding pass (digital or printed) plus any one government photo ID — Aadhaar, PAN, Voter ID, Passport or Driving Licence. The name must match exactly as on the ticket. For international flights a valid passport is mandatory; visa requirements depend on the destination. Infants require a birth certificate.
Date/time changes are allowed on most fares, subject to a reschedule fee (typically ₹1,500–₹3,000 for domestic) plus any fare difference. Fully-flexible fares allow free date changes up to 2 hours before departure. Changes must be made at least 2 hours before the original departure time. Same-day changes use our fast-change feature — no call required.
Full-service carriers (Air India, Vistara) include complimentary meals on most routes. Low-cost carriers (IndiGo, SpiceJet) offer pre-order meals at ₹200–₹500 during booking — cheaper than buying on board. Special meal options (vegetarian, Jain, diabetic, gluten-free) must be requested at least 24 hours before departure.
For domestic routes, booking 4–8 weeks in advance typically yields the lowest fares. Tuesday and Wednesday departures are usually cheaper than Friday/Sunday.
